October 2026 brought a pile of new releases to the heavy end of the spectrum. We picked seven of them — death, black, doom, post-metal and heavy metal — and present them briefly, with each band’s player right below.

SORCERY – The Immaculate Sin

Sorcery from Gävleborg, Sweden, carry roots that go back to 1986, almost to the birth of Swedish death metal. After one album in the early 90s they vanished and returned in 2009. On «The Immaculate Sin» (Xtreem Music, 1 October 2026) they keep classic swedeath with a thrash edge, without changing their recipe. «Paralyzed», «The Exorcist» and «Stand As One or Fall Divided» stand out. Ten tracks, 46 minutes.

DEATHCULT – Cult of the Dog

Deathcult from Bergen, Norway, return almost a decade after their last album to close their trilogy with «Cult of the Dog» (Soulseller Records, 2 October 2026). They recorded again with Pytten and keep the raw, riff-driven Norwegian black metal. A new face is second guitarist Lava (Amok, Taake, Aeternus), who adds heft to the first side. «Author of Caedes» stands out. Seven tracks, 45 minutes.

IN OBSCURITY REVEALED – Caustic Maelstrom

In Obscurity Revealed from Mexico City have been going since 2014. On their second album, «Caustic Maelstrom» (Personal Records, 9 October 2026), founder F.M. (Cimmerian Possession, ex-Infesticide) is joined by an almost entirely new line-up. The sound recalls early Necrovore and Morbid Angel, with doom passages. «Necrotically Gray Hand» and «Consecrated by Rot» stand out. Eight tracks, 39 minutes.

ORBITA – Farewell to All We’ve Lost

Orbita from Bologna, Italy, started in 2023 with stoner rock doom, but on their debut «Farewell to All We’ve Lost» (9 October 2026) they lean toward a heavier post-metal. «Rotted Flowers» still keeps big fuzz riffs, while the album sinks into a dark mood and closes with «The Spear». Four tracks, 40 minutes.

SMOULDER – Witch Wife in an Alien World

Smoulder, based in the US and Finland, release their third album «Witch Wife in an Alien World» (9 October 2026). It’s heavy metal with epic and doom touches, and Sarah Ann on vocals has a stronger presence. The first side has a relaxed 80s metal pace, with blackened passages from the rhythm section. Eight tracks, 43 minutes.

MARGARITA – Abysses of Melancholia

Margarita from Paris release their debut «Abysses of Melancholia» (Electric Valley Records, 9 October 2026). It’s a post-doom trio: psychedelic doom, sparse and dirty, with vocals that hurt. «Melting Days» and «Abyssal Pain» stand out. Six tracks, 38 minutes.

DAWN OF DEMISE – Feed My Absurdity

Dawn of Demise from Silkeborg, Denmark, return after about seven years with «Feed My Absurdity» (Unique Leader Records, 9 October 2026). It’s a brutal death metal quartet, mixing thrashing Jungle Rot with an old-school heavy sound, full of catchy grooves. Ten tracks, 38 minutes.
