Infectious Grooves to Play Their Debut Album in Full for Its 35th Anniversary

Infectious Grooves, the funk-metal band built by Mike Muir and Robert Trujillo, mark 35 years since their first album with a show at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday 28 November 2026.

They will play «The Plague That Makes Your Booty Move… It’s The Infectious Grooves» in full, along with a handful of other songs. Next to Muir and Trujillo, now the bassist of Metallica, will be guitarists Dean Pleasants and Dave Kushner, formerly of Velvet Revolver, and drummer Brooks Wackerman of Avenged Sevenfold.

The show was announced on social media on 20 October with the line «It’s a Fonda Theater deja vu» and the promise of «a surprise or two». Tickets go on sale on Friday 23 October at 7 a.m. Pacific time.

The night comes shortly after Suicidal Tendencies, Muir’s other band, played the same venue on 1 October as part of the Fonda Theatre’s 100th anniversary celebrations. Infectious Grooves started soon after Trujillo joined Suicidal Tendencies in 1989: the two of them wrote songs built around the bass, leaving room for the rest of the band.

The debut came out in 1991 and included «Therapy», with Ozzy Osbourne on guest vocals. Trujillo later played with Osbourne’s solo band before joining Metallica in 2003, and he is currently at the Sphere with the «Life Burns Faster» residency — the run we covered when «Devil’s Dance» came back. The schedule has a break between 7 November and 28 January.

«Sex Pistols and Parliament were my two favourite bands when I was young», Muir has said. «People think they’re completely different but I saw a lot of similarities.»
