Metallica have released an official, professionally shot video for «Devil’s Dance». The footage comes from the second night of their «Life Burns Faster» residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, on 3 October 2026.

It was the first live performance of the song since 7 June 2008 — as we wrote when it came back into the setlist. It was played fourth, behind «Blackened», «Fuel» and «Leper Messiah», and that same night the band also brought out «The Outlaw Torn» from «Load», for the first time since 8 September 2019.

It is the third official video from the residency. Before it came «The Call Of Ktulu», with the giant Cthulhu spreading across the Sphere screen (we saw it here), and «…And Justice For All», which had not been played live since 2014. Both were from the first night, 1 October.

«Devil’s Dance» belongs to «Reload», released in November 1997 as a companion record to «Load» — most of the songs on the two albums were written in the same sessions.

The «Life Burns Faster» residency has 24 shows split into 12 «No Repeat Weekends», with two completely different setlists in each Thursday and Saturday pair, as happened on the «M72» tour. It runs until 13 March 2027. The first eight October dates had been announced since February, and later 8 and 10 October, 5 and 7 November, 28 and 30 January were added, along with ten shows for February and March.

In the first weeks the rotation also brought out «Fade To Black», «Until It Sleeps» and, on 17 October, «Harvester Of Sorrow», which divided the crowd with its visuals.

The Sphere opened in September 2023 with a U2 residency and has since hosted runs by Phish, Dead & Company and the Eagles. It holds 17,600 spectators and relies on a 16K resolution screen that wraps around the room.
