Falling In Reverse: «Joseph» unites Corey Taylor and Serj Tankian | Metal Territory

Falling In Reverse have released «Joseph», a single that achieves something that rarely happens: it brings Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian onto the same song, in a collaboration that has never happened before.

The title isn’t random — «Joseph» is Ronnie Radke’s middle name. The lyrics revolve around war, death, violence and religion, and the sense of a world repeating the same destructive cycle. The track constantly changes face: heavy outbursts and aggressive passages alternate with more atmospheric and theatrical moments, with the three voices sharing the space.

Production was handled by Ronnie Radke and Tyler Smyth, while Jason Richardson, Daniel Laskiewicz and Luke Holland also take part in the writing. The music video, directed by Jensen Noen, has cinematic ambitions and features appearances by both Taylor and Tankian.

It’s Falling In Reverse’s first new music in more than a year, and it continues Radke’s logic of collaborations that don’t go unnoticed: «God Is A Weapon» with Marilyn Manson and «All My Life» with Jelly Roll had come before. Corey Taylor had after all already joined the band back in 2019 on «Drugs». This time, though, Tankian enters the equation too, making the collaboration feel like a wishlist come true.
