The Heathen are back with their new album «Lifetime in Hell», out on 19 February 2027 through Napalm Records, and together with it they released the first single «Escapegoat».
“`The track opens with the classic «Let’s go!» and builds on riffs from thrash’s golden era, with a more modern shade. Singer David White says «Escapegoat» had been in the works for a while, with sharp riffs and punchy drums, and that they wanted to give a first taste of the album’s bigger picture: «Our goal was to make the best album Heathen have ever put out».
The song’s video, according to guitarist Kragen Lum, is about a world that grows more superficial by the day, full of images and distractions: «We look for any chance to escape — doom scrolling, series, gaming, substances. We build walls, bury ourselves in distractions and convince ourselves we will always escape the consequences. Until we don’t. We are the Escapegoat».
Production on «Lifetime in Hell» is credited to Zeuss, while Jason Bittner recorded the drums. The tracklist: «One Last Mistake», «Escapegoat», «Glass House» (with Jeff Loomis), «Sanity Charade», «Lifetime in Hell», «Goddess of the Light», «Demons Making Trophies of Men», «The Bitter End», «Darkness Bleeds», «Respite for the Damned» and «Exit Strategy». For the rest of 2026 the band tours the US with Forbidden and Void, and for the new year they are preparing a European run with Exhorder and Belgium’s Evil Invaders.
