Feuerschwanz have released their new single «Carpe Noctem», on which they are joined by In Extremo. The song is a hymn to the night and to freedom, to those moments when the only thing that counts is the here and now.
“`On «Carpe Noctem» the drive of Feuerschwanz meets the sound that defines In Extremo, and the two bands join voices. The collaboration has come at the right moment, since in the spring of 2027 the two bands begin a joint headlining tour in Germany — its title is «Heute wird der Himmel brennen».
Before that, Feuerschwanz have a date on 19 December 2026 at the Grugahalle in Essen for METFEST, with Brothers Of Metal and Melissa Bonny. According to the band, «Carpe Noctem» is the ideal soundtrack for the tour: loud and made for sing-alongs.
In its statement the band borrows the words of Count Dracula from Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel: the «children of the night» become, with In Extremo at their side, «warriors of the night». For a group that came out of the German medieval rock scene, they say, this collaboration is a real honour.
Feuerschwanz have been one of the most successful names of the German folk metal scene for years. «Memento Mori» and «Fegefeuer» both climbed to the top of the Official German Album Charts, while their latest studio album, «Knightclub», continued the same course.
