The vocal cords of Steven Tyler appear to be in good shape, as Aerosmith prepare for their long-awaited return to the stage.
A source close to the situation told Page Six that the singer’s vocal cords are doing well ahead of the «Aerosmith & Friends» shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, on 29 October and 1 November. They will be the band’s first full concerts since they cancelled their farewell tour, and according to the same source Tyler is looking forward to playing again and sharing the stage with famous friends.
“`The band has been building anticipation all week. On Monday they posted a teaser with Tyler and their long-time photographer Ross Halfin working on the Hollywood Bowl marquee, revealing the words «Aerosmith & Friends» and the two dates. More information, as a follow-up post indicated, would come on Wednesday 7 October.
Aerosmith have not played a full concert since September 2023. On the «Peace Out» tour Tyler fractured his larynx at the 9 September 2023 show at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, with bleeding on the vocal cords, and the rest of the tour was postponed. On 2 August 2024 the band announced that a full recovery of his voice was not possible and stepped back from touring.
Since then Tyler has returned to the stage for one-off appearances: on 30 April 2025 he reunited with guitarist Joe Perry at an event in San Francisco for Janie’s Fund, on 5 July 2025 he sang at «Back To The Beginning» in Birmingham, in September 2025 he was honoured alongside Perry and Yungblud at the MTV Video Music Awards, and he also appeared with The Joe Perry Project at the Hollywood Bowl.
Tyler and Perry are also working on new music. In November 2025 they released the EP «One More Time» with Yungblud, which includes the single «My Only Angel».
Aerosmith formed in Boston in 1970 and have released 15 studio albums, the most recent being «Music From Another Dimension!» in 2012.
