On 6 October 2026 Arch Enemy took the stage at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona, without their drummer Daniel Erlandsson, who was too ill to play. He was replaced by Hank Lin of Thrown Into Exile, the band that opened the show.

According to Arch Enemy, Lin learned the entire set in under three hours and played it without a soundcheck and without rehearsal. Videos shot by the audience made their way online.

Shortly after the show the band posted a photo from the night and explained what had happened. As they said, Daniel couldn’t make it, but Hank Lin of Thrown Into Exile stepped up, learned the set in a little under three hours and gave it everything without rehearsal or soundcheck. The band thanked him for saving the situation and said they look forward to having Daniel back on stage for the Salt Lake City show.

Erlandsson has been Arch Enemy‘s drummer since 1996, while Lin joined Thrown Into Exile, a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, in 2025.

The Tempe show was the second stop of the «Wrath Across North America» tour, where Arch Enemy and The Black Dahlia Murder share headline duties and Septicflesh, Crypta and Thrown Into Exile appear as support on selected dates. The tour opened on 5 October at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium in Riverside, California, and continues with shows such as the Rockwell at The Complex in Salt Lake City on 8 October and the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver on 9 October, before closing on 18 November at Ace of Spades in Sacramento. Arch Enemy are touring with their new singer Lauren Hart, formerly of Once Human, who was announced in February as the replacement for Alissa White-Gluz.
