Metallica have released official video of «…And Justice For All» from the night their «Life Burns Faster» residency opened at the Sphere in Las Vegas, where the song entered the set list for the first time in twelve years.

The performance was filmed on 1 October, when the band played 16 songs for the premiere. «…And Justice For All» came eighth in the running order, after «The Day That Never Comes», and had not been played live since 2014. The video follows the official clip of «The Call Of Ktulu» from the same show, where a giant Cthulhu was projected on the Sphere’s screen.

At nearly ten minutes, «…And Justice For All» is one of the longest songs in their catalogue. It is the title track of the fourth album, from 1988, with music by James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett and lyrics by Hetfield, and the title comes from the last words of the American pledge of allegiance. It was their first album with bassist Jason Newsted, who joined after Cliff Burton’s death in 1986.

The song was a regular in the set list on the «Damaged Justice» tour in 1988 and 1989, where at the end of the shows they lowered a large statue of Lady Justice onto the stage. It then disappeared from the set lists for years, returned in 2007 and stayed through later tours.

«Life Burns Faster» consists of 24 shows across 12 «No Repeat Weekends»: each Thursday and Saturday of the same weekend gets a completely different set list, as happens on the «M72» tour. The residency ends on 13 March 2027.

The venue, next to the Venetian Resort and just off the Las Vegas Strip, holds 17,600 spectators and has a 16K LED screen that wraps around the audience and passes over them, along with a Holoplot sound system. Before Metallica, U2, Phish, Dead & Company and the Eagles played residencies there. In the first two weeks other rare songs were heard too, such as «Devil’s Dance» for the first time in eighteen years, while the «M72» tour, which began in April 2023, has drawn more than four million people, according to the band.
