Staind have released «Ghosts», their first new song in two years, along with an official video. It is the first taste of the album that will follow 2023’s «Confessions Of The Fallen».
“`The track came out on October 14, a day after the band posted a short preview through the Laylo page. It is Staind’s first new music since September 2024, when they released a digital deluxe edition of «Confessions Of The Fallen» with three extra tracks. «Ghosts» is expected to appear on their ninth album, for which no title, tracklist or release date has been announced yet.
Guitarist Mike Mushok had said in May that the album is ready, but that it would hardly come out before 2027. «Confessions Of The Fallen» was released in September 2023 through Alchemy Recordings/BMG and ended a twelve-year wait after the self-titled 2011 album, reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Active Rock Album chart. The first single, «Lowest In Me», climbed to the top of Mainstream Rock Airplay in August 2023 — their first No. 1 there since «Not Again» in 2011 — and the next one, «Here And Now», repeated the success on active rock radio.
The release coincided with their show at the Isleta Amphitheater in Albuquerque, one of the last stops of the first North American leg of the 25th anniversary tour for «Break The Cycle», which closes at the Moody Center in Austin on October 19. «Break The Cycle» was certified 7x platinum in September and «It’s Been Awhile» went up to 8x. A second leg with Seether, Hoobastank and Hinder starts on March 4, 2027 at the SNHU Arena in Manchester and ends on April 16 at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland.
