Godsmack release their brand-new live album, “Live at Mohegan Sun”, out today, May 1, via Primary Wave — arriving exactly as the band prepares to take the stage for one of the year’s most anticipated hard rock tours. The album captures Godsmack‘s sold-out performance on October 26, 2024 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, offering an explosive set that spans their entire career and now serves as the sonic starting point for the Rise of Rock World Tour 2026. After three decades, 20 million album sales, 27 Top 10 singles and 13 No. 1 hits, Godsmack channel the full weight of their legacy into a performance that is both monumental and future-facing. Godsmack‘s “Live at Mohegan Sun” is available now HERE .
« Live at Mohegan Sun captures a moment we’ll always carry with us—the energy, the connection and the gratitude we feel for the fans who made this journey with us », says frontman Sully Erna. « Releasing this album as we kick off the Rise of Rock World Tour is a powerful experience. It honors where we are, while pushing us forward into what’s to come » .
Alongside today’s release, Godsmack present for the first time the official live video for the song « Surrender », which was filmed during the explosive performance at Mohegan Sun. Watch the new video HERE .
Recorded in front of a fiercely devoted New England crowd, “Live at Mohegan Sun” captures the band in full flight—channeling three decades of stamina, power and connection. From the opening surge of « Surrender » to the imposing finale of « I Stand Alone», the album documents Godsmack‘s unmatched chemistry on live performances through key tracks like « Awake », « Voodoo » and « Cryin’ Like a Bitch!! », along with modern anthems like «When Legends Rise », « Bulletproof » and « You and I ».
The release arrives a few days before the band’s Rise of Rock World Tour , which kicks off on May 10 in Bristow, Virginia and crosses amphitheaters across North America before expanding to major European festivals this summer, and then returning to the US in September. With Stone Temple Pilots and Dorothy joining on select shows, the tour unites generations of hard rock in what frontman Sully Erna calls “a hit factory of true rock bands”.
« I haven’t been this excited about a tour in a long time », Erna adds. « Between Godsmack and Stone Temple Pilots, there’s nothing but songs that people know and love. This tour is about celebration – of rock music, of history and of everyone who brought us here » .
While “Live at Mohegan Sun” documents a powerful closing chapter for Godsmack‘s classic lineup – Sully Erna, Tony Rombola, Robbie Merrill and Shannon Larkin – it also marks the band’s upward trajectory. “It wasn’t an ending “, Erna reflects. « It was the closing of a chapter and the welcome of what would follow ». Beyond today’s US release, “Live at Mohegan Sun” will also be available internationally on CD and LP on June 26 HERE .
