“`Country: United Kingdom
Genre: Metalcore
For fans of: Darkest Hour, Lamb of God, Harms Way, Enforced, Zao
The record is full of aggressive riffs and heavy grooves, with melodic metalcore passages that strongly recall Darkest Hour. Between the wildest moments come quiet acoustic passages and melodic guitars, which give the album’s flow depth. «The Third Revelation» opens with clean guitar and piano before the heavy riff drops, while the intensity builds gradually until it erupts. Likewise, the quieter passages in «A Shattered Visage Lies» and «The Agony of Peace» help the album breathe.
The sound combines the technique of modern death metal with the raw attack of hardcore. Guitarist Nathan Harlow constantly changes pace, with blastbeats, tremolo melodies and slow, heavy riffs, over Jack Bryant’s drums. The album features three guest vocalists: Matthew Heafy of Trivium on «Sunrise, Parabellum», Josh Middleton of Sylosis on «What Will You Give» and Anthony Lucero of Cult Leader on «Kurtz». The remaining tracks, such as «Blood River», «The Accelerationist» and «Wish Granter», keep the intensity high, with «Agni Kai» closing the album.
Burner are Jack Bryant (drums), Finn Gannon (bass), Nathan Harlow (guitar) and Harry Nott (vocals).
