The story behind the track
In “Stones and Bones”, Malphas, possessed by hatred and an insatiable thirst for revenge, condemns the Architect to a horrific death: he buries him alive under stones and earth. The press release describes: “burying him alive under cold stones and relentless earth” As the darkness swallows him, the track conveys the suffocating despair of a slow, merciless end.
The sound
“Stones and Bones” combines NocturN’s atmospheric black metal identity with flattening riffs, ominous melodies and a constant sense of terror. The press release notes: “balancing ideally between raw aggression and cinematic storytelling”
The music peaks in a dark, ritualistic mood that fully reflects the tragedy of the story.
The Conjuring
With The Conjuring, NocturN continue to expand their dark universe, building a concept full of mysticism, violence, metaphysics and emotional intensity. “Stones and Bones” emerges as one of the strongest and most memorable moments of the record — a relentless descent into hatred, despair and inevitable condemnation.
