Polymoon are a Finnish outfit moving between progressive, psychedelic and stoner rock, and «Mariposa Magic!» is the album they released on 4 September 2026.
“`Country: Finland
Genre: Progressive Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Stoner Rock
For fans of: Elder, Slift, Pink Floyd
This is an album that takes the listener through fuzzy stoner guitars and glowing synths. It opens with «Ultra Bloom», where a minute of cymbals and sustained synths builds a cosmic atmosphere before a space rock riff comes in and sends the track down more turbulent paths. The compositions let the melodies rise gradually, peak and then dissolve into a wider sonic space.
Among the tracks, the brisk «I End, You Begin» stands out, along with «Glass House, Mortal Rooms», where the drums set the pace, «Welcome to Another Dimension», where the two guitars talk to each other, and «Velvet Rain», with its shifts between a pulsing bass and drum rolls. The album runs about 45 minutes in total and closes with «Harvest of Stars».
The production is signed by Juho Vanhanen of Oranssi Pazuzu. Jesse Jaksola is on synths and guitars, Otto Kontio on guitars, Tuomas Heikura on drums, Marco Menestrina on bass and Kalle-Erik Kosonen on vocals, in a clean delivery with a sense of reverb. The cover art was handled by Elizaveta Porodina (photography) and Raakel Puukko (graphic design).
