KK’s Priest have released a video for a freshly recorded version of «Never Satisfied», a song from Judas Priest’s 1974 debut «Rocka Rolla». Guitarist K.K. Downing also talked about how Tim «Ripper» Owens handles the track compared to Rob Halford.
“`The clip was directed by John Psaras, and the track is available as a free download on Bandcamp for a limited time.
Downing wrote «Never Satisfied» together with Al Atkins, Judas Priest’s first singer. He and Owens had put out an earlier version in June 2025; the new one has fresh drums from Sean Elg, new rhythm guitar from Downing and A.J. Mills, plus a new mix and master.
As he put it, reworking the song was a chance to look back: «It seemed like a good idea to turn the page and see how things can stand up all these decades later».
He also brought up Reach Music, which acquired the rights to «Rocka Rolla» and 1976’s «Sad Wings Of Destiny»; both are being remastered and reissued, with «Rocka Rolla» already out and «Sad Wings Of Destiny» due in November.
He would not pick one of the two singers: «Two great singers and performers», he said, noting that Halford is tied to the legacy of those early records, while Ripper does the same thing in a slightly different way and phrasing. Both, he added, can deliver any song flawlessly.
KK’s Priest are in North America as very special guests of W.A.S.P. on the «1984 To Headless» tour, which opened on 10 September in El Cajon and wraps on 31 October in Anaheim. «I’ve done 21 shows, I have another 21. We’re right in the middle», he said.
Their sets lean heavily on Judas Priest material; at one show they played six of the same songs as them on the same night.
Downing left Judas Priest in 2011 and formed KK’s Priest after the band turned down his offer to return for the 50th anniversary tour. Debut «Sermons Of The Sinner» came out in October 2021, «The Sinner Rides Again» in September 2023, while their first ever live show took place on 6 July 2023 at KK’s Steel Mill, Downing’s venue in Wolverhampton.
