Eloy Casagrande says Slipknot are in the studio working on a large number of songs for their next album, in a calm mood and with no pressure about the commercial result.
“`The drummer spoke to Camilo Guzmán of the Colombian station Radiónica. It is his first studio album with the band since he joined in 2024, after twelve years in Sepultura.
«Right now we are recording the new record. We are making a lot of songs, a whole lot», he said. «I cannot talk much about them or explain what exactly we are doing in the studio. What I can say is that the band is very happy with the music we have made so far, and everybody is in a very good mood.»
The main point, according to him, is that they are not counting the commercial side. «We are not thinking about business, we are not thinking about whether people will like it», he said. «We do what we believe is right. It is a very calm, very natural process, without pressure. We enjoy playing music, and that is the most important thing.»
Casagrande admitted that before joining the band he had the worry whether he would be able to play the way he wants. Seeing now all the members enjoying what they do, he says he understands how rare that is: for every musician, the big question is to play his instrument the way he wants and to be honest with his fans.
The Slipknot position was a lifelong dream for him since he was a kid, when he saw the band’s first video clip. «It was a dream that came true», he remembers, adding that he had waited for something like this all his life.
