“`Country: Sweden
Genre: Death Metal
For fans of: Entombed, Grave, Unleashed
The sound rests on heavy, down-tuned riffs and drums with a punk drive. The guitars carry the rough, dirty production that became the trademark of the Swedish scene, the one known as the Sunlight sound — the same room where Entombed – Left Hand Path was made.
The title most likely refers to the Book of Amos, where justice rolls on like water and righteousness like an everlasting stream.
Dismember formed in Stockholm in 1988 and «Like an Ever Flowing Stream» was their first full-length, after a run of demos. The band belonged to the circle of Swedish groups that pushed the Sunlight sound, together with Entombed and Grave.
The tracks that stand out are «Override of the Overture», «Soon to Be Dead» — which got a video — and «In Death’s Sleep».
Nicke Andersson of Entombed played all the lead guitars except the solo of «Override of the Overture», which David Blomqvist handled.
The cover was painted by Dan Seagrave, an underground, nightmarish scene. The record is considered one of the cornerstones of the Swedish death metal scene, it entered Decibel’s Hall of Fame in 2010 and it returned to the charts in 2023, reaching No. 50 in Germany and No. 76 in Poland.
