«No More Color» is the third album by the Swiss band Coroner and it was released on 18 September 1989 by Noise Records. It was recorded in June 1989 at Sky Trak Studio in Berlin, with Pete Hinton and Coroner producing. The line-up is Ron Broder on bass and vocals, Tommy Vetterli on guitar and Marky Edelmann on drums.

Country: Switzerland
Style: Technical Thrash Metal
For fans of: Voivod, Watchtower, Celtic Frost

The album is technical thrash opening toward progressive, with elements of jazz, progressive rock and classical music. The tracks stay fast, but the passages and tempo changes show a band that is not satisfied with the usual. Broder sings in a clean, controlled way, in contrast to the usual scream of thrash.

«Die by My Hand», «Read My Scars» and «Mistress of Deception» stand out. «Last Entertainment» closes with a darker, spoken-word atmosphere, and «No Need to Be Human» shows the band’s speed. «Die by My Hand» also came out as a video clip and became the band’s best-known track. The songs rarely pass five minutes, but a lot of ideas fit inside them.

The album was recorded in Berlin and mixed at Morrisound Studios in Florida, with Pete Hinton producing. It is Coroner’s first step toward the more experimental sound of the records that followed. The band had already left behind the more direct thrash of its first two albums and was looking for new structures.

It is a bridge album for experimental metal, an influence on bands such as Death in their technical period, and it was reissued by Noise/BMG in 2018. The album stayed a favourite with those looking for something more demanding than ordinary thrash.
