Arch Enemy are writing their first full-length record with new singer Lauren Hart, but guitarist Michael Amott makes clear that the band is in no hurry and would rather gel as a unit first through the live shows.

Amott spoke to Liz McGiffin of Denver’s KDVR Fox 31. Arch Enemy are currently on tour in North America with The Black Dahlia Murder on «Wrath Across America» and passed through Denver’s Fillmore on 9 October.

As he explained, the first song with Hart, «To The Last Breath», came out quickly, after the announcement of their collaboration, to show her voice before they went out on the road. Since then the weight has fallen on live appearances, as the interest in concerts was big. «It is like getting to know each other before we buy a house», he said, adding that the new record is being worked on in the gaps of the schedule and that he does not want anything less than great to come out of it.

Asked whether life on the road feeds new songs, he answered that he collects images and energy during the tour, but needs to get back home to put them in order. Almost every time he says he will put the guitar down for a month and two days later he is in his studio again.

Lauren Hart, known from Once Human, was introduced on 19 February along with the single «To The Last Breath». She took the place of Alissa White-Gluz, whose departure was announced in November 2025, and played with the band for the first time in Beijing on 27 March.

The current tour, with support from Septicflesh, Crypta and Thrown Into Exile, ends on 19 November with a show at the 1720 Warehouse in Los Angeles, titled «Back To The Root Of All Evil», where the band plans to play old and rare tracks. Arch Enemy have also been confirmed for 70000 Tons Of Metal 2027.

Hart is the fourth singer in Arch Enemy’s history. Before her, Johan Liiva sang on «Black Earth» (1996), «Stigmata» (1998) and «Burning Bridges» (1999), Angela Gossow recorded from «Wages Of Sin» (2001) up to «Khaos Legions» (2011) and is now the act’s manager, while White-Gluz left behind «War Eternal» (2014), «Will To Power» (2017), «Deceivers» (2022) and «Blood Dynasty» (2025).
