M. Shawn «Clown» Crahan, percussionist and creative director of Slipknot, has released «Let Me Out», the second song from his solo project O’Day Monster, which relies heavily on artificial intelligence.
“`The track features Liz Anne Hill on vocals, the sound leans towards trip-hop, and the accompanying video is made with AI. Crahan has not said, however, how much of the music came from artificial intelligence.
The project and Clown’s relationship with AI
It is not the first time Crahan has spoken openly in favour of artificial intelligence. In December 2025, when he presented his own universe in Minecraft, he had compared it to a professor in his pocket.
Speaking about the project, Crahan described the new home of all his artistic pursuits, where he wants to show himself without filters: painting, directing, production, Polaroids, 3D animation, AI images and modular synths. O’Day Monster, he says, is the space where he can «drive» his ideas with his own words, with friends who sing what he wants to say.
The project, as he describes it, was born from the need to convey in his own words his battle of «self against self», a relationship that lasts, as he says, a lifetime. Close friends helped him with this, singing his words with the seriousness the subject demands.
