The new single “Feral Future”
Misery Index have returned with new material for the first time in four years. “Feral Future” was released along with an official lyric video and marks the band’s new era after their return to Season of Mist.
The track combines death metal and grindcore with intensity, building on the groove of Mark Kloeppel and Darin Morris and the relentless drums of Adam Jarvis. Lyrically, the song speaks of reconnecting with nature and the need to reclaim the natural world instead of dominating it.
Jason Netherton stated that the track «supports the restoration of damaged human spaces to their natural state and a wilder connection with nature».
The production of the single
“Feral Future” was one of the first tracks written for Misery Index’s upcoming eighth album and thematically defined the record.
