Behind The KVB are Nicholas Wood and Kat Day. For more than ten years the duo has moved between post-punk, shoegaze, cold wave and electronic music, with icy synths, hypnotic guitars and mechanical beats. At live shows the visuals curated by Kat Day count as much as the songs, so the night works as an audiovisual whole and not as just another ordinary live gig.
Two recent milestones stand out in their discography. «Unity» in 2021 opened their sound to brighter melodies and electronic intensity, with the theme of the alienation of today’s world and the promises of an ideal future that eventually collapse. In 2024 «Tremors» followed on Invada Records, where the duo turned again to darker and more aggressive shades without losing the melodicism. From that record, «Labyrinths», «Overload» and «Tremors» stand out.
Through 2025 and 2026 they put out new material as well as reissues from various periods of their history, the latest being the anniversary «Of Desire – Demos & Outtakes (10th Anniversary Edition)». Their catalogue now covers more than fifteen years. Their bio includes appearances at Primavera Festival, Green Man and Robert Smith’s Meltdown Festival, along with constant touring in Europe and America.
