The bands that have been announced
Axel Rudi Pell (Germany) was the first announcement and comes to Greece for the first time, almost four decades after the start of his career. Johnny Gioeli will be on the mic with him, with a high-class band in the rear. The German guitarist is considered one of the steadiest figures in European melodic hard rock and heavy metal, with a discography starting from «Wild Obsession» in 1989. He plays on 12 June.
Second to be announced were Atlantean Kodex (Germany), who bring the epic, majestic side of heavy metal. The Bavarians have over twenty years of activity and albums such as «The Golden Bough», «The White Goddess» and «The Course of Empire», with influences from Bathory, Manowar and Candlemass. On 12 June their hymns go up on the festival stage.
The third announcement concerns Arcturus (Norway), who will present «Aspera Hiems Symfonia» in full. It is their 1996 debut, the moment when the band still sounded purely black metal, before opening up into progressive, avant-garde and electronic paths. It is a rare set, with legendary members of the Norwegian extreme scene.
Fourth come Tailgunner (United Kingdom), from the new generation of British heavy metal. K.K. Downing called them a band that embodies everything heavy metal is and took on the production of their second album, «Midnight Blitz». With twin guitars, speed metal drive and deep NWOBHM DNA, they go up on stage on 12 June.
