Nightrage’s tenth album came out on May 31, 2024 via Despotz Records.
Country: Greece / Sweden
Genre: Melodic death metal
For fans of: Insomnium, Rotting Christ, Septicflesh
Fotis Benardo, the band’s former drummer, returned for the production, and the album was recorded in Greece — a return to the place where Nightrage were born in 2000. Konstantinos Togas appears on vocals for the first time, and it is the last album with guitarist Magnus Söderman and drummer George Stamoglou.
The ten tracks across 42 minutes move along more atmospheric paths. Standouts include “Euphoria Within Chaos”, “Persevere Through Adversity”, which became a video, and “A Throne of Melancholy”.
Our take
An album that closes a circle: the band came back to Greece, took Benardo back and delivered their darkest and most patient album — with a brand-new singer carrying the weight.
