Fan-filmed video has surfaced of Blaze Bayley’s full show on 22 October at The Brickmakers in Norwich, part of the «Iron Maiden Anniversary» tour — his first British run dedicated to that period.
“`Bayley sang with Iron Maiden from 1994 to 1999 and recorded «The X Factor» (1995) and «Virtual XI» (1998) with them. The set draws mainly on those two albums.
The night opened with UFO’s «Doctor Doctor», the familiar Iron Maiden intro, and carried on with «Lord Of The Flies». «Justice Of The Peace» and «Virus» — the 1996 single for the «Best Of The Beast» collection — made the list next to the classic «Wrathchild», from 1981’s «Killers».
«Sign Of The Cross», «The Clansman», «Futureal» and «Man On The Edge» followed, with room for his own songs such as «Born As A Stranger» and «The Brave». The night closed with «The Angel And The Gambler», the first single from «Virtual XI».
The tour comes a few weeks before Iron Maiden enter the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, where Bayley goes in as a member of the band alongside the current line-up.
The ceremony is set for 14 November at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles and will be broadcast by ABC and Disney+ in December. The class also includes Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray, Janick Gers, the late Paul Di’Anno, Dennis Stratton and drummers Nicko McBrain and Clive Burr. Iron Maiden will be touring Australia that week, while Dickinson and Harris have said they will not attend; Bayley has said he wants to represent the band.
