Genre: Black Metal
For fans of: Behemoth, Septicflesh, Paradise Lost The recording was done from April to August 2015 at Devasoundz Studios in Athens, with Sakis Tolis producing and Jens Bogren mixing. Among the guests are Nick Holmes of Paradise Lost on the recitation of “For a Voice like Thunder” — the lyrics are by William Blake — Vorph of Samael on “Les Litanies de Satan”, which come directly from Les Fleurs du mal by Baudelaire, and Danae Katsameni of the National Theatre on “Ἐλθὲ κύριε”, which Sakis has said he was inspired to write by Euripides’ “Bacchae”. There are also two covers: “The Four Horsemen” by Aphrodite’s Child and “Του θάνατου” by Nikos Xylouris. Commercially it was their best moment up to then: number 10 on the Greek chart, 14 on the Billboard Heatseekers and 48 on the US Independent Albums. Our take It is the album where the ritualistic atmosphere became an organic part of their sound. “Ἄπαγε Σατανά” is one of the best tracks of their entire discography.
