Genre: Black Metal
For fans of: Septicflesh, Varathron, Macabre Omen It was recorded in the autumn of 2006 at S.C.A. Studios in Athens, with Sakis Tolis producing and Aris Christou mixing. The album opens with “Χάος Γένετο”, while the two video clips of the time, “Keravnos Kivernitos” and “Enuma Elish”, were directed by Babis Katsounis. It is the first album with guitarist Giorgos Bokos in the lineup, although most of the guitars are Sakis’s, and the first with choir arrangements by Christos Antoniou, along with female vocals on “Nemecic”. The sound becomes more epic and less satanic, with themes from mythology instead of religious rhetoric. The album was voted best black metal album of 2007 at the Metal Storm awards, while in 2017 “Threnody” got its own animated video for the album’s tenth anniversary. Our take This is where the band’s current era begins. The Greek titles and the choirs aren’t decoration, they are the album’s identity.
