Wodos are new: they formed in the winter of 2024 in Lévis, Quebec and play old-school thrash metal without any detours. Their debut album, «From The Grave», came out on September 20, 2026 and is nine tracks around 31 minutes, all recorded with analog equipment. «Head Dead» was the track released first, with a video, shortly before the whole album came out.
Country: Canada (Quebec)
Genre: Old-school Thrash Metal
For fans of: Slayer, Sadus, Demolition Hammer, Dark Angel
From zero, with their hands
Whatever they have, they built it themselves. Handmade flyers for the gigs, demo recording, their own banners — whatever can be done with your hands, was done. In early 2025 they put out their first demo, three tracks, on cassette and CD, and the word spread further than they expected: the thing reached scene magazines and was heard by more than 50 radio stations around the world. Within the first year they had played more than 30 gigs in Quebec and Ontario, sharing the stage with Chris Holmes of W.A.S.P., the thrash legends from Quebec Soothsayer, BARF and others. They now have dates lined up alongside DBC (Dead Brain Cells), one of the first names of Canadian thrash.

The lineup is Benji Thériault on vocals, Charles Fortin on bass, Justin Caron on drums and Mikee Blanchet on guitar.

Hear it in full
The whole album, from the first to the last cycle:
«Head Dead»
«Head Dead» is also the album’s longest track: five minutes that show from the start where the thing is headed. Fast, dirty, with the guitars cutting and the drums pushing — no frills, no intention to impress with anything other than the riffs.
Our take
There’s nothing modern here to grab onto. Wodos play the sound of the 80s because that’s what they love, and they say it openly: the album is an answer to everything that relies on trends, effects and polished production. Their influences are clearly visible — Slayer, Sadus, Demolition Hammer, Dark Angel and the early Quebec scene — and they work as a guide, not as a copy. If what you’re looking for is the old, raw sound, here you’ll find it. If you’re looking for something contemporary, this album won’t suit you, and they themselves would probably see that as a compliment.
We don’t give ratings, and on albums like this one they aren’t needed. Thirty minutes is the listen — one evening is enough to understand whether Wodos are for you (pam). And if something from this half hour stays with you, support them: bands like this put out their albums with their hands and their stubbornness.
