  2. Genre: Black Metal with Gothic / Dark Rock influences
  3. For fans of: Rotting Christ, Varathron, Necromantia

Gone With The Devil belongs to those albums that stick in your head from the first listen. «There are albums that are extremely addictive… Gone With The Devil is one of them» . Yoth Iria follow a distinctive approach to black metal, keeping the genre’s classic, dark vocals, but dressing them with more atmospheric, almost gothic elements. The imagery stays faithful to their style, while they don’t hesitate to incorporate elements unusual in black metal, such as fantasy themes.

They state it clearly themselves: «Black metal is and will always be at the core of our sound, but around it revolves anything that carries darkness, mysticism and spiritual intensity… Our sound must retain melody, simplicity, drama and a ritual character» . This philosophy is visible throughout the album.

The name Yoth Iria has deep roots in the Greek scene, as it first appeared on Rotting Christ’s Thy Mighty Contract in 1993. Jim Mutilator, a founding member of Rotting Christ and Varathron, brings here all his experience and personal style.

The album has many different facets: – “3am” plays with the idea of the «witching hour». – “Once in a Blue Moon” has a melody that makes you sing along without realizing it. – “Blessed Be He Who Enters” brings a female choir and a gothic aura. – “The End of the Known Civilization” shows that Yoth Iria can also move into more modern black metal. – “Woven Spells of a Demon” brings a Mediterranean folk influence, which gives it a distinctive character.

Gone With The Devil isn’t a «typical» black metal album — and that’s its strong point. Yoth Iria aren’t limited by rules, aren’t afraid to experiment and incorporate elements that serve their dark character. The result is an album with personality, atmosphere and a clear artistic identity. As the text also notes: «From my point of view, it wasn’t the best either» — but that’s the magic of the album: it divides, provokes, leaves no one indifferent .

The album was released on May 8 via Metal Blade Records.
