The Multi-Award-Winning Album By The American Heavy/Power Metallers Gets Domestic Distribution
“Silent Script” may have originally been released in August 2023 and re-released via Wormholedeath in 2024, but its story isn’t over. Veritas have just announced that their multi-award-winning album is now available for order in the United States via Dungeon Media — ending the torment of American fans who had to order from abroad to get a physical copy.
A move that seems simple, but is highly symbolic: Veritas are methodically building, step by step, without haste, a presence that endures over time.
The Story Behind The Band
In 2012, guitarist Greg Wenk set out to build something that had a clear philosophy from the very start: a band that would be called Veritas — “truth” in Latin — and would take as its logo the Celtic symbol Awen, a symbol of creativity and inspiration. With over 20 song ideas already ready in the drawer, they began months of auditions to find the right lineup. After releasing their debut EP in 2019, the band focused on creating their first full-length record. In March 2020 they signed a worldwide distribution deal with Amplified Distribution, and on August 28, 2020 their debut was released. “Silent Script” followed in August 2023, with mixing by Daryl Bolicek at Wild Horse Recording Studios in Minnesota and mastering by Thomas Juth at Svenska Grammofon Studion in Sweden — proving that Veritas leave nothing to chance. Chief composer is Greg Wenk, whose riffs stay in the mind, while Denny Anthony’s voice pays tribute to the genre’s legends. The rhythmic backbone of Geno Alberico on bass and Mark Zonder on drums raises the experience to a whole new level.

The final lineup: Denny Anthony (vocals), Greg Wenk (guitar), Geno Alberico (bass) and the legendary Mark Zonder (drums) — one of the top drummers in the history of progressive metal, known from Fates Warning and Warlord.
What “Silent Script” Is
Their sound can be described as classic US Power Metal drawing on the legacy of progressive rock/metal outfits like Fates Warning and Queensrÿche, mixed with the power of bands like Sanctuary — the result is something that reaches the ears in a striking way: melodic and technically crafted, with exquisite contrasts.
Veritas, leveraging the high technical skill of their members and avoiding unnecessary excesses, managed to create an album that overflows with nostalgia for the traditional US progressive power metal sound, while at the same time sounding fresh and revitalizing for the genre.
“Silent Script” hides 12 tracks full of character inside it. Here’s what to expect:
“Limit” opens with thrash riffs à la Metal Church and an incredible bass line that clears the way for Denny’s voice — somewhere between Bruce Dickinson of the “Piece of Mind” era and Ray Alder of Fates Warning at his best. “Creation Groans” has heavier tempos with technical work on bass and drums. “Buried” brings unexpected Southern Rock melodies over metal structures. “More Than I Can Say” has a King Diamond feel, with acoustic and psychedelic layers that create atmosphere. “Modulate”, the epic 7-minute closer, hides a drum solo inside — the first time in Mark Zonder’s long career.
Tracklist: 01. Limit | 02. Creation Groans | 03. Grind Away | 04. Buried | 05. Unchained | 06. None Enslaved | 07. Betraying Sight | 08. Oxygen | 09. More Than I Can Say | 10. One People | 11. Somniloquy | 12. Modulate
What The Critics Say
If you’re a fan of progressive hard rock and metal in the spirit of Queensrÿche or Dream Theater, you must hear Veritas. Greg Wenk’s work constitutes some of the best heavy/power/progressive compositions you’ll hear this year.
