“A Fallen Temple” is Septic Flesh’s fourth album. It came out in 1998 by Holy Records, was recorded from September to December 1997 at Praxis Studios in Athens, and was reissued in 2013 with bonus tracks and new artwork.

For fans of: Rotting Christ, Necromantia, Nightfall The album is the closing of the band’s first period before the turn of “Revolution DNA”: slower, darker and with even greater emphasis on keyboards and atmospheres. Sotiris Vayenas signs the lyrics and Christos Antoniou the orchestrations, while the sound keeps the heavy, atmospheric character of the two previous albums. It is from this release that “The Eldest Cosmonaut” comes, one of the best-known tracks of their first period, which also became a video clip in 1998 directed by A. Argiris and N. Kaltzis. In 1998 the self-titled EP “The Eldest Cosmonaut” also came out, giving the album’s tracks a second life. Our take It is the most atmospheric album of their early era and at the same time the point where the band reached the limits of that sound.
