Dead Like U from Orestiada have been active since 2008, consistently serving old school death metal. With one full-length and two singles already behind them, the band return with the new EP “Dark Requiem”, a release gathering five tracks and acting as another step in their course through the Greek extreme scene.
The band has written songs over all these years, now choosing to present them in order of production, so as to clearly capture their identity and leave their own mark on extreme metal.
A sound that stays faithful to its roots
“Dark Requiem” continues the aesthetic that characterises Dead Like U:
- heavy, old school riffs
- suffocating atmosphere
- fast, aggressive drums
- raw, brutal vocals
The band doesn’t attempt to “modernise” its sound. Instead, it chooses to move with authenticity, honouring the values that defined death metal from its earliest years.
Dark themes and raw energy
The lyrics move along familiar death metal paths: death, pain, occultism, revenge. The EP’s atmosphere is heavy and sickly, with the compositions building an environment that evokes the old school, without unnecessary flourishes.
