Review
Behind The Veil present Betrayed By Shadows, a short and sharp EP that shows exactly who they are: melodic metal with metalcore energy, dual vocals and a production that supports every element. “Renegade” opens hard, with riffs that touch classic heavy metal and early‑2000s metalcore, while the harsh/clean vocal alternation gives it an immediate character.
“Carry On” continues in the same vein, with clean vocals that recall Cristina Scabbia and guitars that keep the interest going with well‑placed solos. “Twisted Games” adds a small atmospheric change with piano in the intro, without losing the band’s core style. “Wildflower” raises the intensity a little, while the title track “Betrayed By Shadows” closes the EP with a steady structure and clean execution.
Five tracks, all tight, with no excess. The EP doesn’t overturn the genre, but it shows a band with a clear identity, solid live energy and the potential for even greater evolution.
