David Ellefson returns to Europe in December for a second round of «Bass Warrior» concerts, built around a full performance of Megadeth’s «Countdown To Extinction». The leg has twelve stops: it opens in Rome on December 3 and closes in Zagreb on the 19th, passing through Italy, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Ireland, Slovakia, Serbia and Croatia.
The set isn’t limited to the album: it includes more Megadeth material, tracks from Ellefson’s solo work and covers of songs that shaped him. «We had such a big demand from the fans for “Countdown To Extinction” earlier in the year that we’ll close 2026 with final shows across Europe, with new cities and countries», he stated. «An ideal way to close the year».
The December shows follow a European leg in March, which also featured the album in full and was announced in January, with Mado as support on all dates. No support has been announced for December. The band accompanying him is made up of guitarist and musical director Andy Martongelli of Ellefson-Soto and Arthemis, guitarist Walter Cianciusi, drummer Alessio Palizzi and singer Mattia Fagiolo. «Bass Warrior» started in 2024 with Martongelli.
The timing doesn’t go unnoticed: Ellefson is playing Megadeth albums in full in Europe while the band runs its farewell tour without him. Dave Mustaine has ruled out the possibility of inviting former members, saying in an interview that doing so would be a big undertaking and that he prefers people to hear the band as it is today: «It’s not a “Megadeth puppet show”».
