Stanley Simmons, the duo of Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons — sons of Kiss’s Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons — have started their first tour in the United States. The premiere took place at Three Links Deep Ellum in Dallas, with thirteen songs drawn almost entirely from their debut.
The record is called «Dancing While The World Is Ending» and was released on August 28. The tour took its name and includes stops in Austin, Nashville, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Denver and Portland, before closing on November 3 at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Their first appearance had been on May 4 at the Voodoo Room of the House Of Blues in San Diego.
The sound has nothing to do with what their fathers did. «Dancing While The World Is Ending», twelve songs, rests on vocal harmonies and moves through folk rock and Americana, with critics bringing Crosby, Stills & Nash and Fleetwood Mac to mind. Producer Rob Cavallo — Green Day, Fleetwood Mac, Paramore, My Chemical Romance — spoke of a Laurel Canyon feel, also took on management of the project, while the engineering was done by his son, Joey Cavallo.
The two had never thought of working together; they grew up side by side on tour and that was as far as their relationship went. In December 2024 they recorded a reel together on Instagram and found themselves in front of microphones for the first time: «We were stunned. The chemistry was immediate, our voices locked in right away». In February 2025 they started writing together. Paul Stanley has publicly supported the record, saying the material is impressive.
