Ministry handed the narrative of their new single over to a machine. «Singularity», the third track to come off their final record, speaks from the perspective of a cyborg informing humanity that it no longer controls the planet.
The video, which follows that story through to the end, was directed by Ben Garcia of Rage4Order Designs in collaboration with Al Jourgensen and Joshua Bradford, formerly of Revolting Cocks. Bradford had also handled the videos for the two previous singles.
«Hate To Go (Take Out Or Delivery)» is out on October 30 via Cleopatra Records and follows July’s «Burned Out» and August’s «We Hate». It closes a run that began in Chicago in 1981, and Jourgensen doesn’t hide it: «I’m done. I’m proud of what I accomplished and amazed by the journey, from “With Sympathy” to today. It was a long trip, but I’ve made my complete peace with the fact that it’s over. Time to go herd goats».
Playing on the album are guitarists Monte Pittman and Cesar Soto, bassist Paul D’Amour — Tool’s first bassist —, John Bechdel on sampler and synths and drummer Pepe Clarke Magaña, who joined in July 2024 after Roy Mayorga left for Jerry Cantrell’s tour; this is the only Ministry studio album he appears on. On the final track, «We’re Still Here», Paul Barker returns, his first appearance on a Ministry record since 2003.
