Their return to European stages in 2026 went far better than anyone expected: from packed festivals to their recent shows with Judas Priest, crowds sang every word to songs many thought they would never experience live again.

Before they start the tour, Nevermore are continuing work on their new album, and audiences at “Liminal Spaces” may hear songs from that chapter. Drummer Van Williams says that if the new music had to be described in one word, it would be “delicious”: “It’s so good it will leave you wanting more.”

The lineup features guitarist Jeff Loomis and Van Williams, along with guitarist Jack Cattoi, bassist Semir Özerkan and singer Berzan Önen. Loomis recalls that he singled Berzan out on the first listen of his audition video: “It was obvious he was a fan of the way Warrel sang, from how he delivered certain words.” Warrel Dane passed away in 2017.

Nevermore formed from the ashes of Sanctuary and, from their 1995 self-titled debut through “Dead Heart in a Dead World” and “This Godless Endeavor”, built a worldwide following, with a line of guitarists passing through Pat O’Brien, Tim Calvert, Steve Smyth and Chris Broderick. After the split, Loomis released the solo albums “Zero Order Phase” and “Plains of Oblivion”, founded Conquering Dystopia and spent almost ten years in Arch Enemy.
