The documentary «Neil Peart: No One’s Disciple» is now available in full and for free on YouTube. Until now it had only played on the Canadian CBC’s own platforms, and it tells the story of the Rush drummer and lyricist.
“`Toronto’s Banger Films made it with the Canadian broadcaster, directed by Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen, the pair behind 2010’s «Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage».
The world premiere took place at the Toronto International Film Festival on 16 September, with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson presenting the screening. On 23 September the film aired on CBC’s «The Passionate Eye».
Production was a co-production with Elevation Pictures, while Republic Pictures took the distribution rights outside Canada.
The film follows Peart from his first steps as a young musician to his place among the most studied drummers in rock, using archive material. Rush had announced their tour after 11 years, with Alex Lifeson talking about the return, and «A Farewell to Kings» remains one of their reference records.
The documentary had already been introduced at its first screening by Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, while the band had begun their first tour in 11 years in 2026.
