The Pineapple Thief released «Far and Wide» on 9 October 2026 through InsideOut Music. It is the sixteenth album from the British group and holds nine tracks.

Bruce Soord has kept the band on a steady course since the late 1990s, with records that balance progressive rock against more direct, song-based forms. On the new album the production is clean and the keyboards carry much of the atmosphere.
The songs move at mid tempos, attentive to detail and to vocals that stay forward in the mix. The sound recalls the more melodic side of British progressive, with electronic passages and guitars that come in selectively.
British progressive has deep roots, from Rush’s «A Farewell to Kings» to Queensrÿche’s «Operation: Mindcrime», and «Far and Wide» moves in that same tradition with a more modern production.
