Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson hinted that the band has unannounced things in the works, while describing his upcoming solo album as some of the best songs he has written.
“`Speaking to Colombian station «Radioacktiva» in Bogotá, Dickinson was asked about his plans for the next two years, both with Iron Maiden and with his solo band. He said the new record stands at the same level as the best things he has done and a step above 2024’s «The Mandrake Project».
A first song will be out very soon and the album within 2027, with five videos already shot that tie together like a story. Dickinson also said the material fits easily with Iron Maiden, since Steve Harris loves it, and that the band is keeping «a few surprises up our sleeve» that he cannot reveal.
Iron Maiden have said they will take a break from touring in 2027, once their current world tour is over. In August 2026 Dickinson had said his schedule was booked until the end of 2028.
He also touched on the «Run For Your Lives World Tour», which celebrates Iron Maiden’s 50 years with a setlist drawn only from their first nine albums, up to «No Prayer For The Dying». He spoke about a show with 3D screens, pyrotechnics and the Eddies on stage, saying the band plays as if it were still in a London club.
After North America, the tour goes through Central and South America in October 2026 and continues to Australia, New Zealand and Japan in November. It is the first with drummer Simon Dawson, who took over from Nicko McBrain at the end of 2024.
The new solo record is expected in early 2027 via BMG. The videos were shot in Nevada in August 2026 with director Leo Liberti and will also become a film of about 45 minutes. One track features the voice of his eldest son, Austin Dickinson, 35.
