The building the Ghost use as the facade of their fictional church is real, is more than a century old and was damaged in the Altadena fires. Now a group of fans is raising money for its upkeep.
The Mountain View
The Mountain View Mausoleum in Altadena, California has been used since 2022 as the visual model for the Ministry, the religious organization around the band’s stage mythology. The performance of “Call Me Little Sunshine” for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” was filmed there in March 2022 and since then the building has appeared in promo photos and videos. It was completed in 1923 to designs by Cecil E. Bryan.
The collection
The Mystic Ministry, an American fan group that organizes events, says it has raised $3,902.47 for the restoration and upkeep of the mausoleum. The amount is the largest single donation on Mountain View’s relevant board.

Three tours
On Saturday, October 3 the group will hold three tours of the mausoleum, with twenty people each, designed together with Mountain View. They will cover the building’s connection to Ghost along with its history and architecture, the damage from the Eaton fire and what is needed to preserve it.
The group’s founder, Amati Avaul, explained that Mountain View became part of the world Ghost have built for their audience: when you read its story, she says, you understand it is not simply a filming location but a rare building full of history and memory, that cannot be replaced. The idea was to turn the fans’ passion into something tangible — if the love for the band brought them there, then helping to save it is a way to give something back.
