In conjunction with the upcoming expansion pack “Lord Of Hatred” for the 2023 computer action role-playing game “Diablo IV”, which is scheduled for release on April 28, Korn unexpectedly released a new song titled “Reward the Scars“, according to theprp . The band claims this song, which is their first new song after about five years, was written with the game in mind.
On this song, the pioneering nu metal band collaborated with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Deftones, Evanescence), with whom they had previously worked on their 2019 album “The Nothing”. As for the connection to a video game, Jonathan Davis, the frontman of Korn, is known for his fanatical role-playing, although it’s not certain whether he likes the popular “Diablo” series.
