American progressive heavy/power metallers VERITAS return strong with “Limit”, the new lyric video taken from the album “Silent Script” — now reissued via Wormholedeath Records.
The History of the Band
In 2012, guitarist Greg Wenk started looking for members for a new band, choosing the name Veritas — which in Latin means “truth” — while for a logo he adopted the awen symbol, which symbolizes creativity. After months of auditions, he found bassist Geno Alberico through an ad, and the two shared a common vision from the very first moment.
The band comes from Kansas City, Kansas, and has been active in the Progressive Heavy/Power Metal genre from 2012 to today. Their EP received radio airplay and online interest even before it was officially released. In March 2020 Veritas signed a contract with Amplified for worldwide distribution of their first full-length album in physical and digital form. The album — with 14 songs, mixed by Daryl Bolicek at Wild Horse Recording Studios in Minnesota — was released on August 28, 2020 and received excellent reviews and interviews in Flirt Magazine, Metalized, Experience the Power and Metal Hammer Greece.
The band’s line-up locked in with two great additions: Denny Anthony took over vocals and the legendary Mark Zonder — known from Fates Warning and Warlord — took the spot behind the drums. Together with their influences from Queensrÿche, Fates Warning and Savatage, Veritas build a sound that highlights the legacy of American metal without copying it.
“Silent Script” — The Album
“Silent Script” was originally released on August 22, 2023 via Sliptrick Records, contains 12 new tracks and presents Veritas at their absolute peak. In September 2024 the monumental reissue via Wormholedeath Records was announced, on September 20, 2024.
Their sound can be described as classic US Power Metal, enriched with the aesthetic of Progressive Rock/Metal acts like Fates Warning and Queensrÿche, mixed with the raw power of bands like Sanctuary — the result is something that reaches the ears in a surprising way: melodic but technically crafted, with exquisite contrasts.

“Limit” — Single Analysis
“Limit” is the opening track of the album and leaves no room for doubt about the band’s intentions. The thrash riffs at the opening — which bring Metal Church to mind — along with the impressive bass line, open the way for Denny Anthony’s voice, which moves somewhere between Bruce Dickinson of the “Piece of Mind” era and Ray Alder of Fates Warning at his best. It’s an excellent headbanger song with superb riffs and a lead guitar à la Jeff Waters (Annihilator). Petesrocknewsandviews
“Limit” combines melodies, technical skill, weight and aggression in an excellent way, with very good guitar riffs and expressive vocals. Its lyrics revolve around themes of personal power, inner struggle and refusal to submit to whatever tries to limit us — a timeless message that resonates deeply in metal culture.

Veritas are clearly a band worth following on the metal scene. With Wormholedeath Records beside them, “Silent Script” finds a new audience and new life. If you don’t know them yet, “Limit” is the ideal starting point.
