The French dark rock quartet Messalina released its new single, titled “No Color”, a collaboration with Doodseskader’s frontman, Tim De Gieter. The track is the third taste from the band’s debut EP, titled “Golden Wounds”, which will be released on May 22, 2026.
Hailing from Nice on the Bay of Angels, the Messalina draw influences from doom, metal and grunge. The band took its name from the controversial Roman empress Messalina. It is worth noting that the line-up includes well-known names from the French extreme scene. JB Le Bail handles vocals and guitar, while Rémi Serafino is behind the kit. Both also play in Svart Crown and Igorrr . Aymen Mahjoubi completes the band on guitar and vocals, with Alexis Fedunizin on bass.
The single is accompanied by a black-and-white music video. According to Le Bail, he first met Tim De Gieter while the latter was on tour with Amenra , and the connection made the guest slot seem natural as soon as work on the song began. De Gieter, for his part, said the invitation came at the right time and that the two musical worlds met in a way he found fascinating.
“No Color” is out now on streaming platforms.
