AEONS IN SOLITUDE – Black Lumina (2026)

AEONS IN SOLITUDE are a doom/gothic metal band from Athens, formed in 2016 by Alex Roussos as a personal project. In 2018 it evolved into a full band with additional members, while in recent years it operates as a duo with Roussos and drummer Nepheli Sofra.

The band moves musically between doom metal, gothic metal, and more atmospheric/darkwave elements, especially in their newer work. Their themes revolve around darkness, interiority, psychological struggle and human decline.

  • gothic rock
  • darkwave
  • atmospheric textures
  • a more introspective and emotional tone

without however losing the band’s dark DNA.

The album consists of 8 tracks, with Dreamer as the first single, accompanied by an official video clip.

  2. 84
  3. Dreamer

Review

Black Lumina is a record that shows a band maturing and daring. AEONS IN SOLITUDE leave behind the more “heavy” doom style and move in a more atmospheric, dark and emotional direction.

The sound is cleaner, more cinematic, with plenty of synth touches and a mood that recalls dark gothic rock more than classic doom. Even so, the emotion remains heavy and melancholic.

Alex Roussos delivers a very personal and introspective performance, while Nepheli Sofra gives the drums a steady, atmospheric base that blends perfectly with the record’s style.

Dreamer stands out as the most immediate and emotional track, while The Frame and Phantoms show the album’s darker side.

Overall, Black Lumina is a record that doesn’t try to impress with force, but with atmosphere, emotion and artistic maturity. It is a natural evolution for the band and shows that AEONS IN SOLITUDE have a clear identity and vision.
