REVIEW
Self Titled shows a band standing firmly on the death/thrash hybrid, with a clear aim: aggression, speed and riffs that leave no room to breathe. The album opens with “Arcane”, a track that immediately sets the tone — sharp riffs, intense drumming and a production that gives space to every instrument.
“Carnivorous Cadavers” and “Centuries of Torment” are the album’s most “death metal” moments, with heavier riffing and a darker atmosphere. “The Onslaught”, the only track available before the release, shows the thrash side of Guardians: fast, direct and with a rhythm that recalls modern American thrash acts.
On the other hand, “Transient Tranquility” works as a short breather, with a more atmospheric character, before the album returns to aggression with “Legacy” and “A La Muerte”. The production is clean, powerful and modern, without losing the rawness such an album needs.
Guardians show they know exactly what they want to play: a death/thrash hybrid with nerve, technique and modern aesthetics, without unnecessary excesses.
