Yawning Man – Pavement Ends is the new album by the legendary Californian desert/stoner rock instrumentalists, released on November 14, 2025 via Heavy Psych Sounds Records, and finds founders Gary Arce and Mario Lalli together with Bill Stinson returning to the studio to create one of their most introspective, atmospheric and bleak works to date.
Pavement Ends captures the sense of the vast, silent desert landscape that has been the band’s historic foundation, but this time it does so with a more melancholic and heavy approach, where minimalist, reverb-drenched guitar motifs, slow rhythmic movements and stretched, almost ritualistic sounds create a tone that is at once psychedelic and contemplative. The album, without vocals, explores tension and release, while tracks like Burrito Power, Bomba Negra and Dust Suppression show how the band maintains its unique composition between desert rock, post-rock and stoner aesthetics, offering a sound that demands full immersion from its listener.
