Vingulmork are a black metal band that combines the spirit of old, raw black metal with the sound and emotions of the modern. Their new record, «Barmhjertighetens Fallitt», is released on September 11 through Crime Records on CD and Schattenpfade and Likskue Productions on vinyl.
Country: Norway
Genre: Melodic Black Metal
For fans of: Satyricon, Mayhem, Darkthrone
The record opens with «Ørkesløs», a track that starts with all the band’s power and reminds you how ferocious black metal can be. The band balances well between melody and aggression: «Sitring» starts slower and more melodic and suddenly becomes one of the most violent tracks on the record, with a beautiful solo at the end. «Avmakt» shifts from a calm mood to a fast tempo full of rage, while «Fallitt» stays closer to the classic elements of old black metal.
The guitars combine the old, simple riffs with some modern tricks that light up the music, without losing the power. The record has twelve tracks: «Ørkesløs», «Skam», «Sitring», «Avmakt», «Krigserklæring», «Fallitt», «Alarm», «Svart Time», «Nådestøt», «Mannen og Kråka», «Trolldom» and «Brann». «Krigserklæring» had already been presented with a lyric video earlier this year.
«Barmhjertighetens Fallitt» is a record that reminds you how powerful metal can be when played loud. Vingulmork work carefully with both moods — the melodic and the aggressive — and the result is an album worth hearing as loud as possible.
