SICKSENSE return with “Newsflash,” a powerful new single and music video that marks the next chapter for the band, while also signaling even more music to be released later this year. Combining the band’s signature intensity with a fresh sonic direction, “Newsflash” is a fearless statement of identity and a bold evolution of SICKSENSE ’s sound.
Driven by contagious hooks, crushing grooves and the band’s undeniable energy, “Newsflash” channels the frustration of life in a world obsessed with conformity and judgment, while turning that tension into an empowering rallying cry.
“Newsflash is about being yourself without apologizing,” says singer Vicky Psarakis . “We live in a world where people feel constant pressure to fit into social norms that keep shifting, leaving us confused and afraid to show our true selves. ‘Newsflash of the week, everyone is hideous’ is the line in the chorus that empowers you to be different, weird, quirky. Embrace it, own it. Life is short, we shouldn’t spend it always worrying about what others think.”
Singer Robby J. Fonts adds: “People love finding excuses to tear others down. Instead of building their own life, they live to make everyone around them as miserable as they are. Newsflash is about pointing out that irony and telling everyone: ‘You know what? Stay miserable. I’ll live my life as I choose, without worrying about what you think of me.’”
He continues: “It’s a fun anthem that’s a throwback to the original ‘in your face’ attitude of SICKSENSE , while sonically pushing the band forward from where we left off with our album Cross Me Twice .”
Accompanied by a visually explosive new music video, “Newsflash” captures the raw personality and fearless spirit that have made SICKSENSE one of the most exciting rising bands in modern heavy music. The single also serves as a harbinger of more material on the horizon.
With “Newsflash,” SICKSENSE make one thing clear: individuality is power, and they are stronger, bolder and more fearless than ever.
