REVIEW:
Sarcasm return with a record that plants its feet firmly in classic Swedish death metal, but doesn’t stay there. From the first seconds it becomes clear that the band wants to open up the game: aggressive riffs, strong energy and melodies that recall the best moments of the old school, but with a cleaner direction and greater variety. On tracks like “Altering the Perception” the band blends the familiar Gothenburg style with more modern bursts, without wearing you out and without falling back on easy solutions.
As the record progresses, elements appear that you don’t expect from a purebred Swedeath album: piano, violin, more atmospheric passages and blackened intensities that add a different colour. The vocals move in higher, sharper lines, while the drums have a more “black” aggression. There are moments where the flow is cut by spoken‑word sections, but overall the record keeps its character and shows a band unafraid to stray beyond the narrow limits of the genre. The end result is an album that respects its roots, but doesn’t stand still.
